This environment is available twenty-four (24) hours daily. It may be used as the full medium by which a course is taught or it may be used to supplement a class taught mostly face-to-face. WebCT is a combined set of tools for developing and delivering interactive courses and its components over the Web. It allows for the distribution of static content (e.g., syllabi, schedules, announcements, and lecture notes), and also provides access to interactive tools (e.g., discussions, whiteboard, live chat, and online assessments). The WebCT platform was originally created by professors at the University of British Columbia in Canada. It allows instructors to design online courses, create their own websites, hold interactive and bulletin-board-type discussions and administer exams in an online environment. To put this information online the faculty or designer will enter the material into pre-prepared forms that will allow the virtual classroom to take shape. 9 There are certain requirements to use WebCT: You must have a means of connecting to the Internet. Your computer must meet certain minimum requirements. You also need a web browser that is compatible and properly configured. If you have any questions regarding WebCT, please contact the Online Computing Help Desk at Requesting Audio/Visual Equipment: All requests for A/V equipment (LCD, overhead, TV/VCR, etc.) should be made a week in advance by filling out a request form at: You can also contact the Orlando Site Technology Specialist at: (407) NSU Help Desk: The Office of Information Technologies Online Computing Help Desk provides online assistance to all NSU students, faculty, and staff.
