Registration can be completed on the Township web site at under the Parks & Recreation Department or at the Township building with an attached check or exact cash during the hours of 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Registrations will also be accepted through the mail up to one week prior to the start of any program unless otherwise noted. Any exceptions must have prior approval by the Director of Parks & Recreation. 2. Proof of residency may be required. 3. Refunds may be requested in writing up to three weeks prior to the start of any program (illness/dr excuse discretion of P & R dept). An administrative fee of $15.00 will be withheld from all processed registrations. Many classes and camps depend on the number of participants. Your registration may ensure that the program will run! No adjustments or refunds will be made for missed classes / sessions. 4. In the event a class or program must be cancelled by the township, a full refund will be issued. 5. Late registrations will be subject to a late fee charge of $ Springfield Township reserves the right to cancel registration when information is intentionally incomplete or falsified. No refund will be made in this case. 7. Camp locations / directors are subject to change. Please put sunscreen on your child before camp each day. 24 NEW FOR 2018 Summer Softball Camp 2018 Instructor: Springfield Head Coach Josh Ringgold Who: Girls Ages (as of camp date) When: August 13-17, 2018 (Monday - Friday) Time: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Where: Bysher Avenue Softball Field Cost: Resident $85 Non-Resident $95 Comments: The overall objective of this camp is to provide campers with a great learning experience in the fundamentals of the game of softball while having a blast! High School and possibly College softball players will be assisting Springfield Head Coach, Josh Ringgold, with the camp. Campers must bring their own glove, sneakers or cleats, and a water bottle. Registration ends August 5th. YOUTH SOCCER (AGES 9-12) Springfield Township is once again joining up with the Chestnut Hill Youth Soccer League for Boys and Girls Fall Soccer (Ages 9-12) ONLY. If your child is between the ages of 9 and 12, they must register through the Chestnut Hill website. Games will be played on Saturdays at either the Chestnut Hill Water Tower or at Philmont Christian Academy. Registration for intramural soccer typically opens in April. The daily schedule will include station drills, speakers, team games and competitions of foul shooting, one on one and three on three. Wear sneakers, bring lunch, snack & water. Campers will play tennis, basketball, volleyball and more followed by a SWIM in the area s only SALTWATER POOL! Our Kitchen Wonder 101 is four days of hands-on, comprehensive food education. Each day we explore a new ingredient by making 3-5 recipes. We will be baking and cooking both healthy food & treats. We ll also learn how recipes are created, and try developing some of our own. Kids bring home samples every day and create their own mini cookbooks. Children of all levels are welcome. Campers should bring a snack and drink each day. Space is limited. Allergy notice: Camps are peanut and nut free! This four-day camp is filled with tons of food fun. We will be making a variety of treats and sweets while learning simple decorating techniques and food styling. Camp includes recipes to take home and plenty of tasty samples. Campers should bring a snack and drink each day. Space is Limited. NOTE: This is a nut free camp. ALLERGY ALERT - We are using eggs, flour and dairy but will try to make substitutions where we can. Please advise of any food allergies or sensitivities when registering. Some of the art activities will include painting on canvas, painting with flowers, magnet making, bracelet making, tissue paper art, sand art, dot art, mosaics, and other special summer-themed crafts. Please bring a healthy snack and drink each day. Participants will have fun creating projects for school supplies, awesome accessories, and room décor! They will also get some great ideas for fabric crafts that can be made at home after the camp! All digital games, apps, computers, websites, and machines need programs to run; learn to code like real programmers do! Join in a scavenger hunt, solve puzzles, play tag, unravel the secrets of the Hanoi Tower, and learn coding skills in our online gaming environment. Collaborate with fellow Mad Scientists, identify problems, test solutions, and debug your programs. This is your Mission:Code should you choose to accept it! Space is limited. As children learn about how animals and insects adapt to life on our planet, they ll flow through the food chain and discover how predators and prey interact with each other. Campers will build a real birdhouse to take home and will have creepy-crawly fun building a bughouse and searching for new tenants. Creating animal tracks out of Plaster of Paris and learning about scent trails will encourage children to take a walk on the wild side. Children will be motivated to explore their own creative movement ideas while getting acquainted with the art of Dance. In a supportive & nurturing learning environment, campers will learn basic technique in Ballet, Jazz & Acro as well as movement through imaginative play. Children will also learn choreography & have the opportunity to show their accomplishments at the end of the week! Session Two: AGES 6-9 A fantastic way for campers to get motivated to explore basic technique in Ballet, Jazz, Acro & Hip Hop in a supportive & nurturing learning environment. Children are encouraged to create their own movement & express themselves through the art of Dance. Willow Grove Avenue, Wyndmoor Cost: $80 Resident $90 Non-Resident Comments: This camp is a great introduction into Irish Dance for anyone that has wanted to try. Irish Dance is a great sport and is a fantastic form of exercise that builds both confidence and discipline. The campers will learn the basic technique and the basic steps of Irish Dance the three s and seven s. Campers will also learn a basic light jig step or two. All campers must wear comfortable clothes (shorts & t shirt). Campers must wear socks or have the little ballet shoes with the elastic across the arch. NO BAREFEET. Each camper should bring his/her own water bottle.
