Chocolate-brown, glossy about uncirculated, extremely rare and superior to all the published examples Kopecks 1788 EM, 57.44g, obverse type, eagle type (Bit 642; B 270; Diakov 597). Fine but extremely rare We were able to find at least two other specimens of this interesting coinage bearing similar characteristics and lacking last two digits in the date. Ahmad Giray (AH / AD) All these coins bear an Ottoman-style cartouche with Royal protocol in four lines and, on the reverse, Giray tamgha above mint and date, within wreath Kyrmis (5-Kopecks), Baghchin-Sarai AH 1191, regnal year 5, 49.01g (Bit 31 (R); Diakov 1174). Good very fine Kopeck (of 3-Akce), Baghchin-Sarai AH 1191, regnal year 4, Turkish style date, 10.35g (Bit 42 (R); Diakov 1178 (R3)). Good extremely fine, very rare Kopeck (of 3-Akce), Baghchin-Sarai AH 1191, regnal year 5, tall date, 10.58g (Bit unlisted variety; Diakov unlisted variety). Good very fine, rare Kopeck (of 3-Akce), Baghchin-Sarai AH 1191, regnal year 6, 13.99g (Bit 51 (R1) var; Diakov 1181 (R3), no illustration). Glossy extremely fine, a very rare date Kopeck (of 3-Akce), Baghchin-Sarai AH 1191, regnal year 7, 13.80g (Bit 52 (R2), unlisted variety with no price estimate and no photograph; Diakov 1182 (R4), unlisted variety). Extremely fine, of the greatest rarity Kopeck (of 3-Akce), Baghchin-Sarai AH 1191, regnal year 7, 12.35g (Bit 52 (R2), no price estimate and no photograph; Diakov 1182 (R4)). Old scratches on the obverse, very fine and of the greatest rarity Denga (of 2-Akce), Baghchin-Sarai AH 1191, regnal year 6, 5.26g (Bit 60 (R2); Diakov 1187 (R4), no illustration). Flaw at edge, glossy extremely fine and extremely rare Georgia under the Russian protectorate 2057 Erekle II ( ), Bisti, Ekaterinburg mint Pattern (?), 6.82g, double-headed eagle with sceptre and orb, rev name of the King in Georgian and Tiflis in Persian, error date (Pakhomov, 1910, plate Г, 53). Very fine and very rare, would benefit from additional research In his commentary on Pachomov s 1970 work, Kapanadze points out that this coin displays more careful artistry than the regular 1781 double pul i issue, but a somewhat distorted Georgian and Persian legend. Kapanadze opined that this coin was prepared at the Ekaterinburg mint as a Pattern piece and sent to Georgia. This would have been much in advance -- by two years -- of Georgia s 1783 Treaty of Alliance with Russia, in which one paragraph touches on the production of Georgian monetary issues displaying Russia s Arms. Apparently, says Kapanadze, the Russian government had already made a decision on Georgia well before the official contract. (Pakhomov pp ). Minimal waviness, as its typical, wonderful mint lustre, good extremely fine and rare, especially with this edge variety. 15,000-20, Kopecks 1797 СМ-ФЦ, heavy standard issue, 1.17g (Bit 28 (R); Sev 2389 var; Uzd 1272 (S)). Minute scratch, toned over mint lustre, extremely fine Kopecks 1798 СМ-МБ, 1.07g (Bit 88; Sev 2407; Uzd 1291). Beautifully toned over minor lamination and with much mint lustre, about uncirculated Kopecks 1797, 20.16g (Bit 192 (R); B 68; Uzd 2940). Some lamination, much mint lustre, extremely fine Gold 5-Roubles 1832 СПБ-ПД (Bit 7; Fr 156; Sev 409; Uzd 0207 (R)). Good very fine Gold 5-Roubles 1835 СПБ-ПД (Bit 13; Fr 156; Sev 418; Uzd 0210 (S)). Good very fine Gold 5-Roubles 1842 СПБ-АЧ (Bit 19; Fr 156; Sev 443; Uzd 0219 (S)).
